Four times a week, the peaceful landscape around Steinhöfel is transformed into one of Germany's largest playgrounds for men. Here, discarded tanks from the Heyse brothers plow through the Märkische Sand and make men's and women's hearts beat faster from home and abroad. Mrs. Jacke also took the opportunity to give her husband a tank ride for his 50th birthday, rounded off by a candlelight dinner on the Mediterranean terrace of the SEEBLICK restaurant in Trebus. But for Mr. Jacke, this trip will be a journey into the past, because in the turmoil of the turnaround weeks in 1989, he lay with his rocket tank at the gates of Berlin, waiting for his deployment order. Uli Gaulke tells a story of couples' happiness and the feeling that things could have turned out very differently.
